The Clinton-Laurens-Newberry Tennis Association was represented by two teams at the Mixed Doubles State Championships September 10, 11 and 12 in Florence. /

The two CLNTA teams were 1) Bill Craine’s 7.0 Senior team and 2) Dan Wilder’s 6.0 Senior team.

Bill Craine’s 7.0 Senior team (GATA) Round 1 vs. HHI = lost 1-2.
#1: Susie Madden & Ralph Patterson lost 6-4, 6-3.
#2: Jolene Postol & Gary Johnson won 6-3, 6-2.
#3: Sharon & Harry Sullivan lost 6-3, 7-6.

Round 2 vs. CTL = lost 1-2.
#1: Jolene & Gary lost 3-6, 6-4, 1-0.
#2: Barbara Fayad & Ralph lost 6-1, 6-2.
#3: Sharon & Harry won 6-2, 4-6, 1-0.

Round 3 vs. SATL = won 2-1.
#1: Susie & Ralph won 7-5, 4-6, 1-0.
#2: Barbara & Gary won 6-4, 2-6, 1-0.
#3: Teresa Abrams & Ricky Rumfelt lost 6-4, 6-1.

Dan Wilder’s 6.0 Senior team (GATA)

Match #1 vs. LATA = Won 2-1.

#1: Martha Wilder & Billy Davis won 6-1, 7-5.
 #2: Sandra Jones & Wayne Kaye lost 4-6, 6-3, 1-0.
#3: Julie Childers & Mac Harrison won 6-3, 3-6, 1-0.

Match #2 vs. LCTA = Won 2-1.
#1: Susie Madden & Billy won 6-3, 6-1.
#2: Flossie Wickiser & Hugh Lister lost 6-1, 6-2.
#3: Julie & Mac won 6-1, 6-3.

Match #3 vs. CCTA = Lost 1-2.
#1: Susie & Billy lost 6-3, 6-2.
