The CLNTA's 5.5 Senior Women's Combo team, representing the Greenwood Area Tennis Association (GATA), won their third State Championship in a row this past October. They ended up tied for first place (with Louisiana) at the Southern Sectional Championships in late January in Baton Rouge, LA. However, LA won the tiebreak (matches won) and became the Champion, while the CLNTA team from GATA was the finalist (even though they defeated LA).

Match #1 vs LA = (won = 2-1):
1D) Susie Madden & Dani Walden won 9-8(4). 2D) Rhonda Ivey & Sandra Watkins lost 8-4. 3D) Julie Childers & Martha Wilder won 8-5. Match #2 vs TN = (won = 2-1):
1D) Susie & Dani won 8-2.
2D) Rhonda & Sandra lost 9-8(6).
3D) Julie & Martha won 8-1.
Match #3 vs AL = (lost = 1-2): 1D) Susie & Dani won 8-2.
2D) Rhonda & Sandra lost 9-8(6).
3D) Julie & Martha lost 8-4.
